Great Day for India
Created on Wednesday, 06 April 2011 21:56

Y’day, India erupted as never before. Across 400 cities in India, rallies, protests and hunger fasts were undertaken. Politicians and Officers were shaken too, with the intensity of the protests. Some parties ran to support while a few made the feeblest objections possible. The question now is not “Will the Jan Lokpal Bill” be passed? but “When will it be passed?”

Never before in living memory has there been such a chasm between the Govt and the rest of the country. India can wait no more!

... Three days after aides like Arvind Kejriwal and Anna ended their latest hunger strike, 75-year-old Anna writes that "The time for fasts has ended. It is time to give people a political alternative."
-- the following is quoted from a recent article I read last month..

.. Mahatma Gandhi postulated the quest for freedom in 1920, at the age of 51 years. It took India 27 years after the launch of the Non-Cooperation Movement to win Independence. And Independence was not won by the Mahatma alone. He carried a nation along in his march for freedom. Victory is not given; it needs to be earned with patience, time, and effort. Over a long period of time.

Nations are built by leaders - by statesman who command respect because they have a vision and the drive to reach a goal. And the leaders need followers who are committed, who are willing to do their bit.

"A great leader's courage to fulfill his vision comes from passion, not position." - John Maxwell on Leadership

What we the people of India need is a good leadership.. After Atal Bihari Vajpayee we have not seen even a single leader who could make us proud - though there are few names that makes the round due to their regional performances.

In yesterday's  Ramdev's fast , one NDA leader from Bihar was seen commenting on Montek Singh Alhuwalia and P Chidambaram - not on their professional merits but on their being not able to talk in Hindi  !! - the fast by Ramdev and his supporters were meant for insisting on bringing back black money and not on regionalism. Today's so called "tall" leaders have so "short" mindset.
It seems that in the 65 years of Independence, India has never been through such a situation, where there is no credible leadership that can rule the nation and guide us through the future !!!
Lets call the creator.. " God Save India..".
