A Lazy Afternoon @ work...
(extract from my personal log book at office to keep myself busy and track my work..)
… even after three phone calls (including one official one !!!) the tick tock has moved only five points (read minutes!! ). Its just 2:00 pm. Now I have to spend another 60 minutes watching the tick tock – some how pretending to open and close xls and ppt files again and again till then. This is one of the perfect ways of killing time at office. @ 3:00 pm I have a telecon to sleep through and after that will have tea.. Then I will link the files which I have created two days ago with July financials. The financials are expected to be circulated in the second half today.
Once my files are linked, the company level production details would have been readily available for discussion.
After thinking and typing all the above lines, the tick tock still going perfectly slow.. 2:07 pm
Just that, it came to my thought..that I will start writing my blog again regularly, that I get sufficient time nowadays to do so… 2:23 pm.
2:25 pm I also think nowadays that, have I become super fast or the tick tock have started to be slow… I am just worried now that every one keeps themselves busy on something and I just watch them. Should I slow my speed like . enter values in one cell, look to left , press enter, look to right , look the cell value again , think a little while, before entering into the next cell ?
2:27 pm refreshed lotus notes to see whether I have received any mails from anybody by any remote chance.. One thing though, I do not see any “ fire in the belly “ in any body around here. All have cool heads, leisurely starting and completing their work. This makes me “freak” ingly mad and I strongly started to feel that I shall not fell victim to this leisure syndrome.
2:32 yep,, finally it took me five minutes to draft and redraft the above paragraph.
2:35 I have asked VK to provide me some data in the morning , will go and check with him in some time. Also have asked SM to prepare the inventory details.. will follow up in few minutes.
2:39 This new habit of logging , I suppose will help me to utilize some of my abundantly available time in the office, record my activities , and good time pass to read it again and redraft… (wow..one more way to kill time perfectly..)
2:44 This may be the 10th yawn after lunch, and that’s a good control till now.. :)
2:52 Spent about five minutes and went through the company info magazine..
3:52 The past one hour spent with lot of emotions, anger and tea.. had to give a suitable reply to AA @ IA. bingo….given !! I love these mail wars !! Its just getting interesting day by day…
3:55 Raised concern on the SC costs provisions. I am sure we would get about millions of rupees of savings in the costs…though they are just ” book profits “, this will help nullify the unplanned surprises in 2012 saving our incentives..
4:31 (started at 4:26 pm) – the variances file is ready within sweet five minutes. Analysis will have to be started on Monday.
5:04 time to leave… “driver.. caaar lekho aao.. “
