Dekho Baarish Ho Rahi hai..
It’s raining here heavily, and the river has started slightly overflowing to the nearby fields...
Another 2-3 feet rise in the water level, river may reach the gates of the housing colony...
That’s what had happened last year, (remember Mumbai 26/7..?), water reached almost the flooring level of the ground floor of the housing colony; I was operating from Mumbai those days. I was advised not to venture out to Mahad during those days... Heard that in the parking lot in one of the block, the Cars were tied with heavy ropes, so that they don’t get carried away by the floods..!!
Water falls in almost all the hills around (Sahyadhari Hills) is a common sight during these days.
Few times I had been to Shivtargarh ( a place where Samarth Guru Ramadass and the great Maratha King Shivaji used to meet in those days..) hundreds of water falls can be seen, all through the way. One can hear the continuous hissing of the unseen falls among the dense growth of the green trees and the shrubs, all along the mountain range. The chill weather, greenary around, silver line water falls, oh,, they have been natural stress busters during our turbulent work pressures.
Heard from colleagues and friends that there are peacocks in those nearby hills. I have heard them honking (how else to call their loud voice..?) in the morning during these seasons, but have never seen them in Mahad...
Before going to Bed, used to think for a while, “should wake up early, go for a brisk walk enjoy the sun rise... (No no no not son rise, as now happens in Tamilnadu politics...)
But, you know, all said is not done always... The view from my balcony is pretty good many times during these days. So, I satisfy myself by looking these in the morning for few minutes from my balcony, whenever in Mahad.
I am, thinking to trek to at least one of these hills to cherish the beauty of the mountains and if lucky to spot peacocks and other animals... well, I have this plan for the past four years... but never get to act upon it... May be, didn’t find any like minded partner to venture out..!!
Most of the weekends, I end up staying in Mumbai on something or the other official work or meeting, and spend the evenings in Malls and Multiplexes...
Now, seriously thinking of buying a cycle... to explore these mountains, hill ranges, and the green pastures that seen around Mahad. Added Advantage... I may also burn out few more calories to reduce my tummy which has just started "growing.."
Let us see....
